Cut out the words to a favourite Disney song, scramble them up and give them to a team. The Price’s and Princesses ca eat their sweets afterwards! 7. There does not have to be a winner though. If you want to have a winner then the Princess/prince with the most sweets collected is the winner. When the villains are out of sweets then they turn to stone and freeze. If they manage to touch the villain then the villain must throw sweets out of their bag to distract the Princesses and Princes while they run away. Everyone moves around the space and the Prince’s and Princesses’ must touch the villains with their wands. Each party guest is a prince or princess and has a wand. Each villain is given a bag of penny sweets. Make the adults of the party the villains. To make this harder only hide single shoes ()not pairs!) 6. If it doesn’t they must continue searching! Each child can only bring back one at a time to try. When a child finds a shoe they must bring it back to the birthday child and try it on and see if it matches the one they are wearing. The other shoe put on the birthday child and they must sit on a chair while all the children go in search of the shoes. Choose one pair of the shoes and only hide one of this pair. Have a pile of different shoes and hide them around the house/party room. They mustn’t get the red one or they are out! Obviously, apples shouldn’t be put back in the bowl once they have been caught. Each party guest must wear a blindfold and then with their hands behind their back and using their mouth only must try and pick up an apple with their teeth and take it out of the bowl. Have a bowl full of water and put in a selection of green apples and one red apple. You re-set the balls and the cushions for each round (the guests must turn around and close their eyes when you do this!) 4. If they are correct they stay in for the next round. The guests must each sit on one and decide whether there is a pea or not. Use tennis balls or golf balls – lay some cushions, mats and different soft objects around the room and under some of them place the balls. Just like the fairy story ‘Princess and the Pea’ your party guests must detect the ‘pea’. Split the children into teams and have them hunt the items, bring them back one at a time and earn appropriate points for the items they find. Include several ‘high value’ items such as a slipper, a crown and some jewels and different items can earn different points. Hide various Royal items around the space. The first team to dress their Royal with all of the items wins. All of the other players will take turns running from their line to the box on the other side of the room and picking out an item of clothing to dress up their Royal. Players should choose one person on their team to be the Royal and everyone else will be the runners. Robin Williamson – All rights reserved – 1983Discover the history of an ancient collection of Welsh stories shared by word of mouth and could well have been the precursors to modern day fantasies such as Game of Thrones… The work is sometimes called The Mabinogion, particularly in Victorian writings, and its title derives from the Welsh word “mab” (lad, son, youth, perhaps hero) meaning basically something like “the lad’s tale”. The four stories (or branches) of the Mabinogi are not necessarily sequential, though same characters are featured in more than one tale. The characters in the stories are deities thinly clad in mortal coils and in the Celtic tradition they are portrayed as neither infallible nor immortal necessarily, at once grand, comic, sad, joyful, beautiful and cruel. Elements in the tales hark back to the most remote antiquity, told and retold perhaps even befare the Celts first invaded Britain a thousand years or more before Christ by unknown bards of forgotten kings. The stories, moreover, have certain parallels both in character and theme m the Gaelic mythologies of Ireland and the Highlands. Thus while at the backbone of Welsh culture, the Mabinogi relates profoundly to the soul of the entire island of Britain. Though first transcribed by clerics in the early Norman period, the tales portray a society many centuries older, when old Welsh was spoken throughout much of what is now England and South Scotland as well as in Wales. “The Mabinogi is one of the great classics of World mythology. Regarding the “Mabinogi” tales itself…let us read now what Robin Williamson wrote for the insert sleeve insert of the album Moving Being’s large scale outdoor production staged in 1983 at Caernarfon and Cardiff Castles and featuring Robin’s music has been filmed for a 1984 Channel Four TV release. It can justly be described as a milestone. Robin’s instrumentation, blending harp, border pipes, and whistle, with keyboards, synthesizers, horns, strings, and percussion of all kinds, approaches this ancestral material in a highly contemporary and individualistic manner which nonetheless capture the wild spirit of the original stories. Printed lyrics and translations to songs and spoken words whether in Welsh or English are enclosed with the album. This outstanding album consists of pieces composed and performed by Robin Williamson in connection with Moving Being’s production of Mabinogi or Mabinogion (The Mabinogion (pronounced /mabɪ’nɔɡjɔn/) is a collection of eleven prose stories from medieval Welsh manuscripts).Though mainly instrumental, the record includes incidental songs performed by members of the cast. ”Pwyll” Out of the deep Welsh water and the saintly dark. ![]()
![]() However, while Apple's $10 a month plan now outdoes Dropbox, it still hasn't been able to match Google's 15GB free storage tier (not to mention the company's "unlimited" free storage in the Google Photos app, which lets you save an endless number of mid-resolution photos at 16 megapixels or under). The cost of Apple's iCloud storage offerings has improved greatly over time, with $10 per month now netting you 2TB of iCloud storage space. For me, they aren't deal breakers, but they might be depending on your needs. ICloud Photo Library and security: What you need to know! The consįor everything I love about iCloud Photo Library, it still has its flaws. ![]() In the unlikely event of a hard drive malfunction, waterlogged iPhone, or other hardware disasters, your images will be safe and sound and ready to re-download. While iCloud Photo Library's primary goal may be to provide you with the same library on all your devices, it also keeps a copy of that library safe and secure in iCloud using Apple's CloudKit framework. This is awesome not only for small-storage iOS devices but also for laptops: I love being able to carry around my "entire" library on my Mac without also having to lug a 500GB external drive to view full-resolution Raw photos. If you need to download an older image or video that's been offloaded from your device and stored in iCloud, you need only tap it while on Wi-Fi the Photos app will automatically remove the oldest images and video you've viewed in order to make room for the most-recently downloaded ones. This space is variable, too - it doesn't take up every speck of free space you have, and instead appropriates a portion to photo storage, adjusting smartly on the fly. ICloud Photo Library's Optimize Storage option automatically and smartly takes a percentage of your device's storage space for high-resolution versions of your most recent photos any images or video that can't fit in that space are stored as low-resolution thumbnails. Your edits also sync across your devicesįorget having to make multiple copies of your images to edit them: iCloud Photo Library syncs non-destructive image edits across your devices, meaning that you can start editing an image on your iPhone, finish the touchup on your Mac, or undo it all on your iPad. That includes the People album, which automatically finds faces in images of your friends this data now syncs across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac, too. In addition, iCloud Photo Library solved one of my oldest iPhone photo management irritations: I can manage albums on my Mac and have them sync to my iPhone, and vice versa. I can even manage that library while offline: Delete an image while you're away from internet access, or add it to an album, and all of that syncs when you pop back online. With iCloud Photo Library, my images are accessible everywhere - even on if I don't have one of my devices handy - and when I'm offline, I can still view low-resolution thumbnails of any pictures I haven't downloaded locally to my machine. You really can access your photos from anywhere - and manage them, too But they remained on my MacBook and repopulated on my iPhone and other Macs as soon as I re-enabled iCloud sync. I had only one sync error, which came from accidentally turning iCloud off on my MacBook before it had finished syncing up that library as a result, those half-uploaded photos disappeared from my other devices. Even during the earliest beta-testing days, I had no issues with iCloud losing or dropping images from my library. ![]() Perhaps the biggest bullet point in iCloud Photo Library's "pro" column for me is that Apple's iCloud team has a rock-solid "it just works" sync product. Thankfully, there are far more ups than downs - at least in my experience. The prosĪfter several years with iCloud Photo Library and the Photos apps on Mac and iPhone/iPad, I'm pretty familiar with the service's ups and downs. Once you do, you'll have access to all its backup benefits along with its automatic sync across devices and sharing service. If you do choose to use iCloud Photo Library, you'll likely need to pay for iCloud storage space to properly save all your images without clogging up your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Total domestic material consumption also rose during the same period - from 48.7 billion tons to 71.0 billion tons. Global figures, however, point to worsening trends: domestic material consumption (the total amount of natural resour ces used in economic processes) increased from 1.2 kg to 1.3 kg per unit of GDP from 2000 to 2010. Decoupling economic growth from natural resource use is fundamental to sustainable development. ![]() Achieving Goal 12 requires a strong national framework for sustainable consumption and production that is integrated into national and sectoral plans, sustainable business practices and consumer behaviour, together with adherence to international norms on the management of hazardous chemicals and wastes. ![]() ![]() In an interesting full circle, direct dial-up support for Synchronet is available again as Rob Swindell wrote a modem to telnet gateway program (SEXPOTS) for this purpose. More internet services have been added in the native (C) code: FTP, SMTP and POP3 by Rob Swindell and rlogin, SSH and HTTP by Stephen Hurd. TCP/IP services written in JavaScript bundled with Synchronet include finger, gopher, IRC, and NNTP. A socket object was added to the JavaScript engine and a "Services" server created which allowed simple TCP/IP services to be written easily. While the BBS still requires BAJA scripts, much can be done with JavaScript. His first "big" contribution was an implementation of Borlands conio library to allow the configuration utilities which were originally written for DOS to run on the Unix-like platforms.Īround the same time, Swindell started embedding the SpiderMonkey JavaScript engine into Synchronet with an eye towards replacing the aging BAJA language which was used for most BBS customizations. He ported the BBS to FreeBSD and did much of the Linux development work. In late 2001, Stephen Hurd (Deuce) joined the project initially as *nix developer. In October 2000, Synchronet was released under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). For this release, dial-up support was dropped making it a TCP/IP-only system. Version 3.00b was released Jand was the first official release of the 3.x series, featuring a native 32-bit Windows version and many new Internet-related features, such as a built-in telnet server. Another version, 2.30c, was released in December 1999, fixing Y2K bugs and introducing some minor new features from the upcoming 3.x series. In April 1999, Swindell revived Synchronet development, revamping it considerably and converting much of the code to C++. ![]() In 1997, version 2.30 of Synchronet was released as freeware, and the source code was released into the public domain later that year. In August 1996, Swindell announced the uncertainty of Synchronet's future. Despite this, a beta version of version 2.30 of Synchronet for MS-DOS and an alpha version for OS/2 were released in early 1996. Digital Dynamics effectively went bankrupt in the fall of 1995. Interest in Synchronet began to dwindle in late 1994, finally becoming nonexistent in 1995. It was also the first BBS package with RIP support, in version 1b revision 1, released January 23, 1993. Synchronet was the first BBS package to support QWK message networking natively without requiring any external utilities, in version 1a revision 10, released June 25, 1992. The first copy of Synchronet sold through the magazine ads was in June 1992. In April 1992, Swindell's employer went out of business and he began to rely exclusively on commercial sales of Synchronet for his livelihood, placing advertisements in the BBS-related magazines Boardwatch and BBS Callers Digest. Initially, he had no intention of releasing Synchronet publicly, but as word of his software spread and he received offers to buy copies of Synchronet, he eventually relented, formed a company called Digital Dynamics, and sold copies of Synchronet at a price of $100 without source code, and $200 with source code. In July 1991, the author began running his own BBS, Vertrauen, on Synchronet. The software was named for its ability to run synchronously on a network. The bulk of the programming for the first version of Synchronet was done during a two-month period in 1991 when Swindell was house-ridden while he recovered from surgery. If Your Inventory Is Full, The Key Drops To The Ground Use the magnet to pull a blue key out of that room. Pull down the painting off the wall here to reveal a hole into the next room. Get ready for another annoying sideways jump to reach that platform. There will be an empty spot in front of you and a platform over to the left just out of reach. Turn right, then take the first door on your left. Remove the chair blocking the nearby doorway and head through to a hallway filled with paintings of eyes. You should see a red and blue magnet device just poking out of the shelf blocking your way - grab it! Head over to your left towards a blocked entrance and crouch down. Head inside the window, then jump down through the hole in the left corner of the room. Jump to the platform, then grab the mannequin and smash out the window in front of you. Yes, you will have to do this several annoying times, because the jumping and physics still aren't perfect in this Alpha version. Take a deep breath and jump across to the roller coaster tracks. Head down the stairs in the corner and open the regular door (ignore the door in the floor that drops straight down).
